3/4 Arabian mare, blood bay with a tiny white snip. She has three white anklets with ermine spotting on right and left forelegs and right rear.

With ebony doe-eyes, sharply tipped ears, a diminutive muzzle, lovely dish and sweet personality, Feather shines when she gazes at you. She has the long Saddlebred neck and extra extravagance in her movement, coupled with the best of her Arabian ancestors.

She is balanced and correct, front and rear, with the kind of motion you’d expect from a mare with English, Native Costume and Park Champions on both sides of her pedigree. And we do not mean five generations back--we mean her sire, dam, and both grandsires have had successful careers.

Our lovely Feather’s sire is Playmaker+, is a Regional Champion in Side Saddle and Formal Driving, plus a Top Five Regional winner in Pleasure Driving, and AO English Pleasure. We’re proud of Feather’s sire, but did we mention that her grandsire is MHR Nobility? That would be National Park Horse Champion and Canadian and US Reserve National champion MHR Nobility. CD Feather Lite, Feather’s dam, is a true sweetheart. A ribbon-winner for her owner, she has the athletic talent to be an excellent jumper. Quite the sport horse! On her sire’s side, she is a daughter of Park, English Pleasure and Native Costume Champion Custom Delux+, who in turn was sired by Park Champion Gdansk+, out of Park and English Pleasure Champion Bask++, by English Pleasure Champion Gdynia++, with a dash of another Bask++ son, US and Canadian National Champion Tornado thrown in. Custom Delux+ was a Regional Champion and Reserve Champion in Park, Native Costume and a class A winner in Country English Pleasure. CD Feather Lite’s American Saddlebred dam was a double granddaughter to the two-time Reserve Grand Champion, Modern Creation. Feather is eligible for registration as a National Show Horse.

Clearly, Feather’s pedigree is stuffed to the galleys with horses that can perform for both big-name owners and amateur owners. Imagine all of that talent turned to the sport horse arena as well--there won’t be a show arena off limit to her foals. With a dam who is 15.2 hands and a sire who is 15.0 hands, we expect her to mature at 15.1 hands. You don’t need a map to find Feather’s treasure!

Fall, 2011 Update: Feather was in training with Tim Wigren of Command Performance Training last Winter. This Fall, she is with Heather Smith of Lost Creek Horse Ranch. From Heather herself: "Feather never puts a hoof wrong. She always takes off on the correct lead, and moves beautifully."
